Fishing is one of the deepest mid-game systems in Chronoromancer. It's a two-stage minigame run from Marina's fishing village, with seven different upgrade paths that all stack together, a 30-fish ledger to fill, and a multi-character quest chain that ends in catching the legendary Void Leviathan.
This guide covers everything: how to start, the minigame mechanics, every fish in the database, all upgrades and where to get them, the Marina/Sashimi quest line, and the optimal path to fully maxed-out fishing.

Quick Start
To start fishing you need three things:
- A Wood Rod (key item, bought at the fishing hut)
- Fishing Bait (consumable, also bought at the hut)
- To be at the Fishing Village Coast during daylight hours
The fishing village is in the Medieval era, in the Village Outskirts district. Travel there from any medieval map and you'll find Marina's fishing hut on the coast.
What You'll Need (For The Full Quest Chain)
For just basic fishing, you need nothing beyond a rod, bait, and access to the medieval era. For the full quest chain leading to the Void Leviathan, you'll also need:
- Brothel ownership — required to build the pool that Sashimi moves into. Brothel ownership is awarded at the end of the Potato Quest chain (King Graham's food crisis → Christy's potato education → Wilfred's delivery → King's Royal Appointment).
- Brothel Reputation 5+ for the Courtyard, 6+ for the Pool. Reputation grows as you run your establishment.
- The Courtyard built — Gastoff plot, Brothel Rep 5+, costs $30,000 + 10 epic materials/ingredients/fabrics each (3 hours).
- The Pool built — Gastoff plot, Brothel Rep 6+, costs $200,000 + 25 epic materials/ingredients/fabrics each (3 hours). Must have the Courtyard built first.
- Dungeon Floor 13 access — the Water Level. The dungeon is a separate exploration system; Floor 13 is the only floor where the Old Fisherman, the Sashimi encounters, and the various other water encounters can roll.
- 10+ Dragon Coins — special dungeon currency from Floor 13's guaranteed underwater coin, random coin tiles, and scenario rewards. You'll need 10 minimum (5 for Master Baiter, 5 for the Old Fisherman's Lesson). See
dungeon_guide.mdfor current farming routes and prices. - 1,000,000 total caterpillars — across all your habitats, for Caterpillar Bait. This takes a while; start the breeding system early.
None of this is required for fishing itself — you can fish from day one with a Wood Rod and bait. These are gates for the upgrade ecosystem and the Void Leviathan quest.
Locations
Fishing Village Coast (Medieval Outskirts)
The shore where Marina runs her fishing operation. Two key actions live here:
ActionCostTimeWindowRent Fishing Boat60 gold, 300 min5 hours4 AM – 5 PMEnter Fishing HutFree0 minAnytime
Marina also appears here at the coast in the evenings (6–8 PM, even-numbered days only) once you reach Known stage with her. That's when her Personal Talk and Sunset H2H actions become available.
Fishing Hut Interior
Marina's office. This is where you buy gear, upgrade your rod, trigger her relationship plots, and where she processes your catch after every trip. She's here every day from 4 AM to 5 PM.
The hut is also where you'll trigger most of her major story events.
Gear Shop (Fishing Hut)
All gear is bought from the hut, available 4 AM – 5 PM.
| Item | Cost | Materials | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wood Rod | 100 gold | 10 common materials | Starting rod; required for fishing |
| Iron Rod | 500 gold | 10 rare materials | Requires Wood Rod owned |
| Gold Rod | 1,000 gold | 5 epic materials | Requires Iron Rod owned |
| Fishing Bait ×10 | 20 gold | — | One bait per cast |
Rods are key items, so you only buy each one once. Upgrading from Wood → Iron → Gold replaces the previous rod automatically — you always use whichever is the highest-tier rod in your inventory.
The View Fishing Ledger action is also at the hut and is free — it shows your full catch records.
How Fishing Works
Fishing happens in two stages back-to-back, in a single session.
Stage 1: Boat Navigation (Open Water)
You sail a boat around an open water area, dodging rocks and logs while collecting glowing rings as they appear. The boat moves toward wherever you click.
- Each session lasts 45 seconds by default (60 seconds with Marina's first boat upgrade)
- 6 obstacles (rocks and logs) block boat movement — bumping them wastes time
- Rings spawn at random positions roughly once per second
- Rings fade over 3 seconds then disappear if not collected
- Sailing into a ring triggers Stage 2 (the reel minigame)
- Each ring caught consumes 1 Fishing Bait
The session ends when one of three things happens: the timer runs out, you run out of bait, or you press ESC.
Ring rarity determines what tier of fish you can hook:
| Ring Appearance | Rarity | Default Spawn Rate |
|---|---|---|
| Pale teal/cyan ripple | Common | 60% |
| Deep purple swirl | Rare | 30% |
| Gold/yellow with purple core | Epic | 10% |
These percentages shift as you stack the various rarity-boosting upgrades (see Upgrades section).
Stage 2: The Reel Minigame
When you catch a ring, you're taken to a circular clock-face screen. A spinner rotates clockwise around the center, and a Roman numeral marks the target zone (1 = I through 12 = XII). A pie-slice "hitzone" extends from the center toward the target.
- Click when the spinner is inside the hitzone to score a hit
- Hitting outside the hitzone counts as a miss
- Catch the fish when you reach the required hits before maxing out misses
- If you miss too many times, the fish escapes (no fish, but the bait is still gone)
There are 10 difficulty tiers, with harder fish using faster spinners, smaller hitzones, more required hits, and fewer allowed misses.
| Difficulty | Spinner Speed | Hitzone Width | Hits Needed | Max Misses |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 16.0 | 105 | 3 | 5 |
| 2 | 17.0 | 100 | 3 | 5 |
| 3 | 18.0 | 85 | 4 | 5 |
| 4 | 19.0 | 75 | 4 | 4 |
| 5 | 20.0 | 65 | 5 | 4 |
| 6 | 22.0 | 55 | 5 | 3 |
| 7 | 24.0 | 45 | 6 | 3 |
| 8 | 26.0 | 35 | 6 | 2 |
| 9 | 28.0 | 25 | 7 | 2 |
| 10 | 30.0 | 20 | 7 | 1 |
The fish that gets selected is rolled randomly after you catch the ring, based on the ring's rarity (see Fish Database for the full mapping). You don't know what you've hooked until the reel screen comes up.
After the Session: Marina's Processing
When the session ends, Marina meets you at the hut to process your catch. She calculates total fish count, combined length in centimeters, total weight in stones (using a cubic scaling formula), and yields about 45% as usable meat.
She takes a 40% cut for operations — boat maintenance, salt, ice, and delivery to both villages — and gives you the remaining 60% as gold, plus food and ingredients depending on how good your haul was.
Reward Tiers
Bonuses scale with the total base value of your catch:
| Total Value | Tier | Bonus Food | Common Ing | Rare Ing | Epic Ing | Marina Points |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| < 300 | 1 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 0 | +3 |
| 300 – 499 | 2 | 3 | 2 | 0 | 0 | +5 |
| 500 – 699 | 3 | 5 | 3 | 1 | 0 | +7 |
| 700 – 999 | 4 | 7 | 4 | 2 | 0 | +10 |
| 1000 – 1499 | 5 | 10 | 5 | 3 | 1 | +25 |
| 1500 – 1999 | 6 | 15 | 7 | 4 | 2 | +40 |
| 2000+ | 7 | 20 | 10 | 5 | 3 | +100 |
Each tier also gets unique greeting and reaction dialogue from Marina, plus a different facial expression. Higher tiers have her openly impressed; tier 7 leaves her speechless.
If you catch a legendary fish (Godly Goldfish, Chrono Carp, or Void Leviathan), Marina has a special reaction. The Void Leviathan specifically grants an additional +50 relationship points on top of the tier reward.
A no-fish session has no Marina interaction — you just return to the village.
Worked Example: A Tier 5 Catch
Say you finish a good session and come back with 18 fish, total base value 1,200 gold:
- Marina takes 40% (480 gold) for operations
- You receive 60% (720 gold) as your share
- Bonus rewards (tier 5): 10 prepared food, 5 common + 3 rare + 1 epic ingredient
- Marina relationship: +25 points (raw — fishing rewards skip the usual Romantic-skill / attractiveness / favorite-stat bonuses)
- Plus the per-fish records get added to your ledger (counts and personal-best sizes)
A maxed-out fishing session at tier 7 (2000+ gold base) gives you 1,200+ gold, 20 prepared food, 10/5/3 ingredients, and +100 relationship points. That's why fishing becomes the dominant relationship activity in late game.
Fish Database
There are 30 fish total, split across four rarity tiers. Each has a description in the Fishing Ledger, a level rating, a size range, and a base value.
Note on time-of-day: Each fish has a "preferred hours" entry in its data. In the current build this is flavor text only — fish selection inside the minigame is purely based on ring rarity and a random roll from that rarity bucket. Hour does not currently affect what you catch. (The Void Leviathan is the one exception, and it's gated by quest flag rather than time.)
Common Fish (Difficulty 1–3)
Pulled from teal/cyan rings. Your bread-and-butter early-game catches.
| # | Name | Difficulty | Size (cm) | Base Value |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Minnow | 1 | 5 – 12 | 2 |
| 27 | Tadpole Fish | 1 | 3 – 8 | 1 |
| 2 | Bluegill | 2 | 15 – 25 | 3 |
| 3 | Perch | 2 | 18 – 30 | 5 |
| 4 | Sunfish | 2 | 12 – 20 | 4 |
| 5 | Chub | 2 | 20 – 35 | 6 |
| 6 | Carp | 3 | 25 – 50 | 7 |
| 7 | Catfish | 3 | 30 – 60 | 10 |
| 8 | Bass | 3 | 25 – 45 | 13 |
| 9 | Trout | 3 | 20 – 40 | 15 |
| 10 | Pike | 3 | 35 – 70 | 17 |
Rare Fish (Difficulty 4–6)
Pulled from purple rings.
| # | Name | Difficulty | Size (cm) | Base Value |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 11 | Salmon | 4 | 45 – 80 | 26 |
| 12 | Walleye | 4 | 30 – 55 | 30 |
| 28 | Moon Bass | 4 | 35 – 60 | 28 |
| 13 | Sturgeon | 5 | 60 – 120 | 43 |
| 14 | Muskie | 5 | 50 – 100 | 39 |
| 15 | Steelhead | 5 | 40 – 75 | 35 |
| 16 | Tuna | 6 | 80 – 150 | 52 |
| 17 | Marlin | 6 | 100 – 200 | 65 |
| 18 | Swordfish | 6 | 90 – 180 | 60 |
Epic Fish (Difficulty 7–8)
Pulled from gold rings.
| # | Name | Difficulty | Size (cm) | Base Value |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 19 | Golden Trout | 7 | 30 – 50 | 105 |
| 20 | Ancient Sturgeon | 7 | 150 – 250 | 110 |
| 29 | Prismatic Eel | 7 | 50 – 90 | 108 |
| 21 | Crystal Bass | 8 | 40 – 70 | 85 |
| 22 | Rainbow Koi | 8 | 35 – 60 | 95 |
| 23 | Shadowfin | 8 | 45 – 80 | 130 |
| 30 | Ghost Shark | 8 | 70 – 120 | 120 |
Legendary Fish (Difficulty 9–10)
The rarest catches in the game. They roll from any ring color (with low odds), but Master Baiter and the Gold Rod dramatically improve your chances.
| # | Name | Difficulty | Size (cm) | Base Value |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 24 | Godly Goldfish | 9 | 120 – 180 | 350 |
| 25 | Chrono Carp | 9 | 80 – 120 | 260 |
| 26 | Void Leviathan | 10 | 200 – 400 | 500 |
The Void Leviathan is special — it only appears in the rarity pool while the Void Leviathan quest is active (see Quest Chain section). Until then, it cannot spawn at all.
Rarity Roll Tables — What Actually Determines Your Catch
When you collect a ring, the game rolls twice:
- Rarity roll: what tier of fish gets selected (common/rare/epic/legendary)
- Fish roll: which specific fish from that tier (uniform random pick)
The rarity roll is what the rod and Master Baiter affect. Here are the actual numbers:
Wood Rod (no Master Baiter):
| Ring Color | Common | Rare | Epic | Legendary |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Teal | 85% | 13% | 2% | 0% |
| Purple | 35% | 55% | 9% | 1% |
| Gold | 10% | 25% | 60% | 5% |
Iron / Gold Rod (no Master Baiter):
| Ring Color | Common | Rare | Epic | Legendary |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Teal | 70% | 25% | 5% | 0% |
| Purple | 20% | 60% | 18% | 2% |
| Gold | 5% | 15% | 70% | 10% |
Master Baiter (overrides rod-based table — same odds regardless of rod):
| Ring Color | Common | Rare | Epic | Legendary |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Teal | 60% | 30% | 8% | 2% |
| Purple | 10% | 65% | 21% | 4% |
| Gold | 0% | 15% | 70% | 15% |
A few things to notice:
- Without Master Baiter, teal rings cannot produce legendaries with any rod. Master Baiter overrides the rod table, so even a Wood Rod gets the listed 2% legendary chance from teal rings.
- Master Baiter never lets common fish come from gold rings. Once you're at gold + Master Baiter, every catch is at least rare quality.
- The biggest legendary-chance jump is from Iron→Master Baiter on epic rings: 10% → 15%. That's a 50% relative increase to your Void Leviathan odds.
Final Sale Value
The number on each fish is the base value at minimum size. The actual value scales linearly between min and max size — a fish caught at maximum size is worth roughly double its base value. Total session value is the sum of every fish caught at its final scaled value.
The Fishing Ledger
The hut's "View Fishing Ledger" action shows your complete records: total fish caught, total gold earned from fishing, per-species count, and the largest size you've recorded for each fish. Click any fish name to see its description, base value, rarity, and your personal best size.
Fishing Upgrades
There are seven upgrade paths that all stack together. None of them are mutually exclusive — a fully kitted-out angler has all of them active at once.
1. Fishing Rods (Reel Stage)
The rod equipped affects both the reel difficulty and the rarity odds when a fish gets selected.
| Rod | Hitzone | Hits Needed | Max Misses | Rarity Bias |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wood Rod | base | base | base | Skewed toward common fish |
| Iron Rod | +5 | −1 | +1 | Standard rarity table |
| Gold Rod | +10 | −2 | +2 | Standard rarity table (same as Iron) |
Important: Iron Rod and Gold Rod use the exact same rarity table. The Gold Rod's only advantage over Iron is reel difficulty (bigger hitzone, fewer hits needed, more misses allowed). The big rarity jump happens once when you upgrade Wood→Iron — see the Rarity Roll Tables in the Fish Database section for the actual numbers.
2. Marina's Fishing Lesson
Buy this from Marina at Acknowledged stage. It costs 500 gold and 120 minutes, one-time.
Effect: +5 to reel hitzone width (permanent, stacks with rod bonus)
3. Caterpillar Bait
Marina starts offering this at Acknowledged stage, but it requires a total caterpillar population of 1,000,000 across all your habitats. Once unlocked it's permanent.
Effects:
- Infinite bait — sessions never end from running out
- Ring spawn interval reduced (faster ring spawns)
- Ring rarity shifts: −12% common, +4% rare, +8% epic
4. Marina's Boat Upgrades (Three Tiers)
A staged upgrade chain for the boat itself. Each tier is a major relationship plot.
| Tier | Cost | Materials | Requires | Boat Speed | Session Length |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 — Upgrade Boats | $5,000 | 60/20/5 | Close Friend + Tech 50 | +25% | 60 sec |
| 2 — Enhance Speed | $15,000 | 80/30/10 | Partner, Tier 1 done | +50% | 60 sec |
| 3 — Ultimate Mastery | $50,000 | 160/60/20 | Crush, Tier 2 done | +100% (2× base) | 60 sec |
The first tier alone is huge — it stretches every session from 45 to 60 seconds, which is a 33% bigger window for hooking fish. The Tier 1 plot also includes Marina's first kiss.
5. Master Baiter (Skill from Old Fisherman)
The Old Fisherman is a repeatable encounter on Floor 13 (the Water Level) of the dungeon. He sits in a quiet alcove on a moss-covered rock with a lantern hanging above, fishing in calm dark water. "Most folks run screaming through here. Splashing around, fighting fish-beasts, making a racket. Me? I just fish." He offers three menu options:
- Master Baiter skill — 5 Dragon Coins
- Fishing Lesson — 5 Dragon Coins
- Just talk for a bit — free; he tells you stories about the strange things he catches ("Glowing things. Things with too many eyes. I throw those ones back.") Pure flavor, no rewards.
This is an exclusive skill — you can only learn it from him, not from any other source.
Effects:
- Faster ring spawn rate (additional reduction stacking with Caterpillar Bait)
- Dramatically better fish rarity odds at every ring level (substantially better epic and legendary chances)
6. Old Fisherman's Lesson
Same character, separate purchase. Also 5 Dragon Coins, one-time.
Effect: Reel spinner moves 15% slower — gives you noticeably more reaction time, especially valuable on difficulty 8–10 fish.
7. Sashimi's Kiss Blessing
Earned by completing Sashimi's three-part dungeon encounter chain on Floor 13 (see Quest Chain section).
Effects:
- Faster ring spawn rate (stacks with the others)
- Ring rarity shifts: −9% common, +4% rare, +5% epic
- Ring lifetime extended by 0.5 seconds (3.0s → 3.5s)
Stacking Summary
When everything is unlocked, the fishing experience changes completely:
- Sessions: 60 seconds instead of 45
- Bait: Infinite
- Boat: 2× base speed and rotation
- Ring spawns: Roughly twice as frequent (Master Baiter + Caterpillar Bait + Sashimi all stack)
- Ring rarities: Heavily skewed toward rare and epic (commons become uncommon)
- Fish rolls: Master Baiter pushes legendary fish into reach from any ring color
- Reel: Massive hitzone (Gold Rod +10 + Marina's Lesson +5 = +15), fewer hits needed, more misses allowed, 15% slower spinner
The result is an absurdly favorable mode where catching the Void Leviathan goes from "miracle" to "matter of time."
Marina — Relationship Guide
Marina is the gatekeeper for nearly every meaningful fishing upgrade. Building her relationship is fishing's main progression curve.
Quick Profile
- Age: 21
- Special Skill: Master Baiter — if you've learned this from the Old Fisherman, Marina's points from talks and personal talks are doubled (×2 multiplier on those actions specifically). Plot rewards and fishing-session rewards bypass this multiplier.
- Favorite Stats: None — Marina doesn't care about your stats
- Gifts: None — Marina has no gift system
- Backstory: Manages the fish trade that feeds two villages after the dragon burned the farmland. Wakes at 4 AM every day. Her grandfather saw the Void Leviathan, documented it, and died labeled a madman.

Daily Actions — Fishing Village Coast (6–8 PM, even days, Known+ only)
| Action | Cost | Time | Points | Daily | Requires |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Personal Talk | — | 20 min | +2 | 3× | Known+ |
| Sunset at the Dock H2H | — | 60 min | (H2H) | One-time | Known+ |
| Sunset Walk | $50 | 120 min | (date scene) | One-time | Close Friend, 6–8 PM |
The Sunset Walk is a one-time romantic date scene; once you've done it, it's gone for good. Costs 30 energy on top of the time.
Auto-Triggered Plots
These fire automatically when you enter the fishing hut and meet the conditions:
- The Fishing Hut — auto, Stranger, fires on first hut visit, +3 points
- Feeding the Villages — auto, Known stage, 8 AM – 2 PM, +3 plus choice rewards. Marina's backstory plot.
Relationship Strategy
Stranger → Known: Daily 4× talks at the hut (+4/day). Trigger Marina's first meeting just by walking in, and Feeding the Villages auto-fires once you hit Known.
Known → Close Friend: Add Personal Talk on even evenings at the coast (+6 across 3 talks). Do Fishing Wisdom for a permanent +1 Commerce. Buy the Fishing Lesson at Acknowledged for the +5 hitzone bonus and an easy +6 points. The two H2H conversations (Sunset at the Dock at Known, Impossible Catch at Friend) are big jumps.
Close Friend → Max: The boat upgrades each grant 75/80/100 bonus points. Caterpillar Bait gives +17 once you hit 1M caterpillars. The Sunset Walk date is a one-time scene. After all that, fishing itself starts giving meaningful relationship points — a tier 7 catch is +100, plus +50 if it includes the Void Leviathan.
The fastest way to push past Close Friend is to fish heavily once you've unlocked all the upgrades. Tier 7 catches stack relationship points faster than any other action in the game.
Marina's Heart-to-Heart Conversations
Marina has two H2H conversations in the current build. Both run for multiple rounds with choice rewards per round, and each one shifts how she sees you.
Sunset at the Dock (Known+, Coast)
You find Marina sitting alone on the dock at sunset, dangling her feet over the edge. She invites you to sit. Across 7 rounds she opens up about things she never gets to discuss with anyone:
- The invitation — sharing the sunset (caring, observational, or "Reading People" special: notice she's exhausted)
- Business realities — her 40% cut barely covers operations: boat maintenance, salt, ice, delivery wagons. Some weeks she loses money. Special-skill branch reveals more.
- Rental philosophy — refused triple offers from Kings Demesne merchants who wanted leisure tours. The boats are for survival, not amusement. (Intelligence 20 special: notice she's strategically building food security)
- Daily routine — 4 AM starts, weighing catches, calculating prices in her head. "Numbers have always made sense to me."
- The dragon crisis — fish became the only reliable meat after the dragon burned the farmland. The villages are counting on her, and she pushes herself because of it. (Empathy special: tell her she doesn't have to carry this alone)
- Quiet admission — she thanks you for seeing her as Marina, not as the boss. "This is the first time in months I've just sat and talked with someone."
- Standing to leave — invites you to do this again sometime
This H2H gives ~17–25 points across the rounds depending on choices, and unlocks new dialogue with her going forward. The Romantic skill bonus is reduced for this conversation (10 points instead of the usual 25) — the game uses Romantic to gate it as a meaningful but not relationship-defining moment.
The Impossible Catch (Friend+, Hut, 10 AM – 2 PM)
You catch Marina at the dock outside the hut, fishing with her grandfather's old rod — something she rarely has time for anymore. Across 5 rounds:
- Finding her fishing — she handles the rod with practiced ease. (Reading People special: notice the rod is ancient but lovingly maintained — a family heirloom)
- The grandfather's story — finest fisherman the waters ever knew. In his final years, claimed to have seen the Void Leviathan during a storm. Spent the rest of his life trying to prove it: notes on tides, moon phases, weather, exact times. Everyone called him senile. He died believing he'd seen something the world refused to acknowledge.
- Marina's secret dream — she believes him. She dreams of catching the Leviathan herself, not for glory but to restore his honor. Tells you it appears between 3–4 AM when the barrier between worlds is thinnest. (Charm 30 special: become her champion)
- Marina's laughter and wager — she bursts out laughing at your confidence, then steps closer, traces a finger along your chest, and makes the offer. "If you somehow manage to catch that impossible fish... you can have me."
- Playful farewell — tells you the old fishing logs are in the back room if you're serious. Wishes you luck.
This H2H is what activates the Void Leviathan in fishing, and locks in Marina's wager. Romantic skill bonus is also reduced here (15 points instead of 25). The conversation runs ~25–35 points total depending on choices.
Story Plot Highlights
The Marina questline has 8 plots that play out as you progress. Here's what to expect from each.
The Fishing Hut (auto, first visit)
Pure tutorial. Marina is sharp and businesslike — "New face. You here to buy fish or just track mud on my floor?" She explains the operation: fish feed two villages since the dragon burned the farmland, you take a boat out, she handles the rest. She explains the rings, the bait economy, and the rod tiers. Ends with "Welcome to the coast, I guess. Try not to fall in." No choices.
Feeding the Villages (auto at Known, 8 AM – 2 PM)
Marina's backstory plot. Quiet morning, she invites you to pull up a crate while she balances ledgers. She tells you the hut used to be a small family operation — parents, grandparents, simple trade. Then the dragon came. "Suddenly fish wasn't just something nice to have with supper. It became the main thing keeping people alive." She admits she's twenty-one and somehow responsible for feeding half the region.
Three choice responses: caring (most people just complain about prices), funny (mermaid wrangler!), or flirty (rod jokes — Marina nearly makes you bait hooks for that one).
Fishing Lesson (manual, Acknowledged+)
Marina sits you down across the counter and walks you through real reeling technique. Her grandfather taught her: "The line isn't a rope. It's a conversation." She explains how every species pulls differently — trout darts sideways, sturgeon drags straight down, pike fights in bursts. The trick is reading tension and waiting for the second tug, not the first. Choice responses: kind (genuine thanks), funny (slow-dancing with fish), or flirty (which she shuts down immediately — "Keep your rhythm talk for the tavern.").
Caterpillar Bait (manual, Acknowledged+ + 1M caterpillars)
You walk in carrying a heavy sack. Marina opens it: enormous, fat, juicy caterpillars. "These are caterpillars! But they're enormous." You explain you've been cultivating a supply and can keep her stocked permanently. She doesn't ask too many questions. Her line: "I don't even want to know what you're feeding them." Three choice responses: kind (helping the operation), funny (best customer becomes business partner), or adult (compares her to the caterpillars — Marina cannot tell if it's the worst compliment ever or the most creative).
Marina's Boat Upgrade (manual, Close Friend + Tech 50, $5000)
You spend the day at the docks. Marina directs the work with a sharp eye, catching every misaligned joint. By late afternoon the first upgraded boat sits gleaming in the water. Choice responses early on (caring, funny, or flirty) shape her reaction.
After the work, on the boat at sunset, the businesswoman drops away and she just looks happy. "I keep waiting for the catch. The part where you tell me what you actually want out of this." Then: "I'm not great with words when they actually matter. So I'm just going to do this instead." — and she pulls you in by the collar and kisses you. Sudden, confident, over before you can fully process it.
The wrap-up scene at the hut has her flushed, trying to wave it off as the sunset and salt air. Three more choice responses there. This is Marina's first kiss and arguably her single biggest character moment.
Marina's Boat Speed Enhancement (manual, Partner, $15000)
Shorter, more workmanlike plot. Marina is fine-tuning rigging when you propose another upgrade. Three choice tones (practical / pride / flirty) shape her reaction. The work itself is a montage; the test run has the boat cutting through water "like a blade." Marina: "This is insane! We just redefined what's possible out here." Brief, satisfied conclusion. No new kiss scene — this one's more about her seeing you as a real partner in the operation.
Marina's Ultimate Speed Mastery (manual, Crush, $50000)
The capstone of the boat chain. Experimental propulsion, "fifty thousand gold, enough materials to outfit an entire fleet." Three choice tones: sincere ("I believe in what we're building together"), ambitious ("Marina's Fishing Fleet does it right"), or romantic ("seeing that look on your face when you push these to their limit"). The final test run has the boat "dominating" the water. Marina's final line: "Thank you. For believing in this. For believing in us." Sets the stage for the Leviathan reward as the next big moment.
A Length of Rope (manual, Romantic+)
Side gag plot. Marina has spare fishing rope; you ask for some. The actual reward is 1 Rope added to your monster_tools_inventory — useful in the brothel dungeon for capturing monster girls. Three choice tones, +10 base relationship.
The Impossible Wager (manual, Close Friend + Leviathan caught + H2H done)
See Step 6 above. The full payoff scene.
The Sashimi & Void Leviathan Quest Chain
The biggest single reward in the fishing system. Catching the Void Leviathan is the culmination of a multi-character chain that runs through the dungeon, the brothel pool, and Marina's hut.
Step 1 — Sashimi's Dungeon Encounters (Floor 13)
Three sequential one-time encounters in the Water Level. They appear randomly in the floor's scenario rotation, so it may take several visits to trigger all three. Each encounter must be completed in order before the next one can roll.
Encounter 1 — First Sighting A flash of crimson hair behind the rocks. A teal tail underwater. She spots you and darts away. Pure setup, no choices.
Encounter 2 — The Rescue Sashimi is tangled in old fishing nets. Two options:
- Cut her free — guaranteed success, no check
- Untangle by hand — Creativity check; success gives a warmer scene, failure still works but rougher
Encounter 3 — The Octopus Attack She's being attacked by a Giant Octopus. You have to fight.
- Giant Octopus stats: 360 HP, base level matched to the dungeon floor
- Strong against water, weak to lightning
- Absorbs 70% water, 10% light, 10% dark
- Has an ink_cloud override (20% chance to use it)
After the victory she speaks for the first time, kisses your cheek, and grants the Sashimi's Kiss Blessing (a permanent fishing buff). She tells you she's leaving the dungeon for the open sea.
Step 2 — Sashimi Moves to Your Pool
Once all three dungeon encounters are done, Sashimi can be discovered while you're fishing. The trigger conditions:
- 25 or more fish caught in a single session
- All 3 dungeon encounters completed
- The brothel pool must be built
- Sashimi is not already at the pool
When all of these are true, the next time you finish a 25+ fish session you'll trigger The Mermaid at the Rock plot. Sashimi pulls herself up onto a rock as you drift back toward shore, water dripping from her crimson hair. She's been watching you fish from below ("In a scientific way! I am researching humans"), thanks you again for fighting the octopus, and explains she's left the dungeon for the open coastline. She found underwater passages connecting the sea to your pool — recognized "the scent of your magic in the water."
She's frank about why she ran: "My father thinks I am on an extended migration route. My sisters think I have lost my mind. Maybe I have. But I want to be near humans." She asks if she can stay in your pool. Three response options (caring / funny / flirty), all positive. She slips back into the water promising to make her way through the underground passages by nightfall.
She also has a thing about feet. "I would give up every pearl in my father's treasury for a pair of those." That comes up a lot.
A Fish Out of Water auto-fires the first time you visit the brothel pool after she's moved in (9 AM – 7 PM window). Sashimi is bobbing in the water, excitedly recounting the trip ("There were three wrong turns, a very confused eel, and one tunnel that definitely led to someone's well"). Elara walks in mid-paragraph and stops dead. "That is a mermaid. There is a mermaid in our pool." You explain (caring/funny/flirty), and Elara — to her credit — adapts immediately. She introduces herself, offers an ongoing orientation in human customs. Sashimi's last question stops Elara cold: "What do you humans eat around here?" Cut to silence.
Sashimi at the Pool
Once she's moved in, she's available at the pool from 9 AM – 7 PM daily.
| Action | Cost | Time | Base Points | Daily | Requires |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Talk | — | 20 min | +1 | 3× | Stranger+ |
| Give Chocolate | 1 Chocolate | 10 min | +5 | 1× | Acquaintance+ |
| Give Flowers | 1 Flowers | 10 min | +8 | 1× | Acquaintance+ |
All three actions get the favorite-stat / special-skill multipliers on top of base points.
- Favorite Stats: Mystic 70, Charm 70, Communication 70 — each one you meet adds +1 flat point per action (so meeting all three = +3 to every points-giving interaction)
- Special Skill: Transmutation — if you've learned this, all of Sashimi's relationship points are doubled (×2 multiplier on the final total)
Pool-side auto plots (all trigger 9 AM – 7 PM at the pool):
- Curious About Humans — auto at Known stage. Sashimi peppers you with questions about human life across three rounds; each round has helpful/funny/flirty answers with their own bonus points. +6 base relationship plus choice rewards.
- The Beast Between Worlds — auto at Friend stage (see Quest Chain, Step 4). +5 relationship, activates the Void Leviathan.
- An Island in Mind — auto after Beast Between Worlds is done. Sashimi tells you about a paradise island she knows from her migrations and proposes it as a getaway. +3 base plus choice rewards. Completing this unlocks the Boat to Sirena Isle action at Marina's hut (see Beyond the Leviathan below).
Step 3 — The Impossible Catch (Marina H2H)
At Marina's Friend stage, visit the fishing hut between 10 AM and 2 PM to trigger this conversation. Marina is at the dock with her grandfather's old rod, fishing for the first time in months. She tells you the full story — how he saw the Void Leviathan during a storm, kept obsessive notes on tides and moon phases trying to prove it, and died labeled a madman for it.
When you swear you'll catch it for her, she laughs in your face — and then makes the wager: "If you somehow manage to catch that impossible fish... you can have me." She's playful about it, but the offer is real. This H2H grants several relationship points across 5 rounds of dialogue, with optional special-skill choices (Reading People, Charm 30) that unlock bigger reward branches.
This H2H also activates the quest — completing it locks in Marina's wager (which the Impossible Wager scene later checks for) and makes the Void Leviathan catchable starting now.
Step 4 — Sashimi's Lore (alternate / parallel path)
Once Sashimi reaches Friend stage at the pool, the Beast Between Worlds plot auto-triggers when you visit her between 9 AM and 7 PM. She tells you what the merfolk know about the Leviathan: it's intelligent, ancient, and exists between realities. Even other merfolk give it a wide berth.
This plot also makes the Void Leviathan catchable. Either path is enough on its own — Marina's H2H or Sashimi's lore drop — both unlock the same thing. Doing both is purely for completeness and flavor (the Sashimi side gives +5 to her relationship; the dialogue offers caring/funny/flirty response choices but no extra points are awarded for which one you pick).
Step 5 — Catch the Void Leviathan
With the quest active, the Leviathan can now appear in the legendary fish pool when you fish. It's difficulty 10 — the hardest reel in the game.
Recommendation: unlock all seven upgrades first.
- Gold Rod
- Marina's Fishing Lesson
- Caterpillar Bait
- All three boat upgrade tiers
- Master Baiter skill
- Old Fisherman's Lesson
- Sashimi's Kiss Blessing
Even fully maxed, it can take several sessions. Legendary fish are rolled when an epic ring resolves and the rarity coin flip lands on legendary — Master Baiter is the single biggest factor here, raising the legendary chance from epic rings to 15%.
Step 6 — The Impossible Wager
Once you've caught the Void Leviathan AND completed The Impossible Catch H2H, the Impossible Wager action appears at Marina's hut for Close Friend+.
The scene begins at the hut, where Marina has been staring at the preserved Leviathan mounted on her wall. She references the wager directly — "I don't make promises I won't keep" — and asks you to meet her at the coast that night.
After dark, you find her alone at the dock with a single lantern. She's let her hair down. The boat ride that follows is intimate, slow, and more emotional than playful — Marina admits she rehearsed a speech about how this was just honoring a bet, but admits she'd be lying. The night ends drifting on the water under the stars.
This is a one-time scene — once it plays, the action is gone for good, and Marina's intimate content is permanently unlocked. Worth around +22 + 75–100 relationship from the plot itself.
Beyond the Leviathan: Sirena Isle
The fishing storyline doesn't end with the wager. Once Sashimi has told you about the Void Leviathan (Beast Between Worlds), her next pool-side plot — An Island in Mind — has her describe a paradise island from her migration routes and propose it as a getaway.
Completing that plot unlocks a new action at Marina's fishing hut:
| Action | Cost | Time | Requires |
|---|---|---|---|
| Boat to Sirena Isle | $1,000,000 | 120 min | An Island in Mind completed; full version only |
Marina lends you a skiff, and the trip opens up Sirena Isle — the vacation resort area, with its own systems, characters, and content. Sashimi herself guides the way and her story continues there.
Sirena Isle is a full standalone system beyond the scope of this guide — the point here is simply: keep Sashimi's relationship growing after the Leviathan, because her plots are the doorway to the isle.
Optimal Progression Path
Here's the recommended order if you want to chase the full fishing experience as efficiently as possible.
Phase 1: Get on the Water (early game)
- Make it to the medieval era and find the fishing village coast
- Buy Wood Rod ($100 + 10 common materials)
- Buy Fishing Bait x10 ($20)
- Talk to Marina 4 times per day (the daily limit) to start building her relationship
- Rent a boat and fish — even with no upgrades, the early-game gold flow is decent
Phase 2: Lock in the Foundations (Acknowledged stage)
- Upgrade to Iron Rod once you have 500 gold and 10 rare materials
- Buy Marina's Fishing Lesson ($500) — permanent +5 hitzone is huge
- Unlock the brothel and build the pool (separate quest line, but required for Sashimi)
- Start farming caterpillars (separate system — see Caterpillar Breeding)
Phase 3: Dungeon Trips (mid-game)
- Get to dungeon Floor 13 (Water Level)
- Run Floor 13 repeatedly until all three Sashimi encounters trigger — this also gives you the Sashimi's Kiss Blessing automatically on encounter 3
- While on Floor 13, find the Old Fisherman and pay 5 Dragon Coins for Master Baiter, then 5 more for the Fishing Lesson (15% slower spinner)
Phase 4: Trigger Sashimi's Move (Friend stage with Marina)
- Once all three encounters are done and the pool is built, fish a 25+ catch session to trigger Sashimi's discovery
- Build Sashimi's relationship at the pool (Flowers daily for fastest progress)
- Build Marina to Friend stage in parallel
Phase 5: Activate the Quest
- With Marina at Friend, visit the hut 10 AM – 2 PM to trigger The Impossible Catch H2H
- With Sashimi at Friend, visit the pool to trigger Beast Between Worlds — this activates the Void Leviathan in the fish pool
Phase 6: Max Out (late game)
- Push Marina to Close Friend + Tech 50 → buy Upgrade Boats ($5,000 + 60/20/5)
- Once you hit 1M total caterpillars, unlock Caterpillar Bait (infinite bait)
- Upgrade to Gold Rod once you have $1,000 and 5 epic materials
- Push to Partner → Enhance Boat Speed ($15,000 + 80/30/10)
- Push to Crush → Ultimate Speed Mastery ($50,000 + 160/60/20)
Phase 7: Hunt the Leviathan
- Fish heavily — every session is now 60 seconds, infinite bait, fast spawns, heavy rare/epic skew, max-effective reel difficulty reduction
- Each session has a real shot at a Void Leviathan from epic rings
- Once caught, return to Marina's hut and trigger The Impossible Wager
Tips & Notes
- The boat collides with obstacles. Plan your route — bumping rocks halts your forward motion and burns time. Once you have boat upgrades, the speed makes navigation much more forgiving.
- Don't chase rings if it costs you a clean route. A wasted 4 seconds chasing a fading ring through obstacles is often worse than skipping it for the next one.
- Bait management before Caterpillar Bait. Buy in bulk — 10 bait for 20 gold is cheap, but a session can easily eat 20+ bait once you're hooking rings consistently.
- The Iron Rod isn't just a stepping stone. Its +1 max miss alone is enough to stop most early reel failures. Don't skimp.
- Marina's tier rewards scale steeply. Going from a tier 4 catch ($700) to a tier 7 catch ($2,000) is +90 relationship points and 4× the bonus food. Late-game fishing is by far the fastest relationship gain in the game.
- Sashimi's Kiss is permanent. Once you've finished Encounter 3 on Floor 13, the buff applies forever — even before you find her at the pool.
- Master Baiter affects rarity at every ring color. Even a common ring with Master Baiter has an 8% epic and 2% legendary chance. It's the most impactful single upgrade for hunting legendaries.

Marina
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 16.0 | 105 | 3 | 5 |
| 2 | 17.0 | 100 | 3 | 5 |
| 3 | 18.0 | 85 | 4 | 5 |
| 4 | 19.0 | 75 | 4 | 4 |
| 5 | 20.0 | 65 | 5 | 4 |
| 6 | 22.0 | 55 | 5 | 3 |
| 7 | 24.0 | 45 | 6 | 3 |
| 8 | 26.0 | 35 | 6 | 2 |
| 9 | 28.0 | 25 | 7 | 2 |
| 10 | 30.0 | 20 | 7 | 1 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| < 300 | 1 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 0 | +3 |
| 300—499 | 2 | 3 | 2 | 0 | 0 | +5 |
| 500—699 | 3 | 5 | 3 | 1 | 0 | +7 |
| 700—999 | 4 | 7 | 4 | 2 | 0 | +10 |
| 1000—1499 | 5 | 10 | 5 | 3 | 1 | +25 |
| 1500—1999 | 6 | 15 | 7 | 4 | 2 | +40 |
| 2000+ | 7 | 20 | 10 | 5 | 3 | +100 |
- Marina

2. Marina
4. Marina
7. Sashimi
Marina——

Marina
Marina
Marina
实际奖励是加入monster_tools_inventory的 1条绳索——可用于在青楼地下城捕获怪物女孩。
Sashimi
- Sashimi
Sashimi
- Marina
- Sashimi
