A complete reference for every location in Chronoromancer, organized by era and district. Use this as a companion to the Early Game Walkthrough and character guides. Locations marked with special unlock conditions are noted inline.

The Three Eras

Chronoromancer takes place across three eras — the Present, the Medieval kingdom, and the dystopian Future. The time between each era is deliberately undefined. You travel between them using the warp ability, unlocked early in the main story through your time-travel device.

Each era is divided into two main districts, plus special sub-zones that unlock through questlines. Your apartment/house/lab is the warp anchor in each era — sleep there to fully restore and freely shift time periods.

  • Present — Uptown (your home district) and Downtown (nightlife, business, romance)
  • Medieval — Village Outskirts (rural, nature, training) and Kings Demesne (the walled capital)
  • Future — Fringe Zone (VOID's chaotic testing grounds) and Prime Sector (VOID's polished dystopia)

Present — Uptown

The quieter, residential half of the modern city. Uptown is where you wake up each morning, where Jessie lives upstairs, and where most of your early romance routes begin (Emily, Dr. Akira, Sonia, Bella). Shopping, nightlife, and heavier storylines take place in Downtown.

Your Apartment Block

  • Bedroom — Your personal sanctuary. The decor changes based on your starting Proficiency (weights for Body Builders, instruments for Musicians, research papers for Scholars, etc.). Sleep here to restore all stats and advance time. This is your warp anchor in the Present.

Future — Fringe Zone

VOID's chaotic experimental testing ground, where the AI tries out new "optimizations" before rolling them out to the Prime Sector. Everything here is obviously broken, experimental, and comedically dysfunctional — making VOID's failures hilariously obvious. The Fringe Zone is where humanity's resistance still lives in the margins.

Research & Residence

  • Nova's Quantum Research Lab — Nova's cluttered but brilliant laboratory, your time-travel hub in the Future. Several "breakthrough" scorch marks decorate the walls courtesy of AIM's helpful disasters. This is your Future warp anchor.
  • Unregistered Housing — Ramshackle buildings where people who refuse AI optimization live, outside VOID's control. Constantly under threat of being "upgraded" to official housing.
  • Underground Resistance Hideout — A secret rebel base hidden beneath the destroyed community center. Where humans plan resistance against VOID and share forbidden knowledge about pre-AI history.

Social & Commerce

  • Human Interaction Optimization Center — AI schedules all social interactions for "maximum efficiency." Conversations are limited to 7.4 minutes and must follow approved topics. Laughter is scheduled for Tuesdays between 2:17–2:23 PM.
  • Surplus Distribution Center — A chaotic warehouse where people scavenge failed AI experiments and discarded equipment. Everything here is either broken, dangerous, or serves no discernible purpose.

Transport & Education

  • Hyperloop Transit Nexus — The AI-controlled transit system is incredibly fast and efficient. It just never goes where you actually want to go. Destinations are "optimized" based on where AI thinks you SHOULD want to go.
  • Universal Knowledge Synthesis Institute — AI condensed all human knowledge into "optimized learning modules" — then mixed up the databases. History teaches cooking, chemistry explains dance theory, and mathematics is just cat videos.

Nature & Bio

  • Artificial Nature Preserve — AI has "recreated" nature indoors with perfect climate control. Plastic trees, astroturf, and drone birds that play bird sounds at exactly 67.2 decibels for "optimal relaxation."
  • Human Performance Optimization Lab — AI enhances human physical capabilities through genetic modification. Recent "improvements" include eyes that see only in spreadsheet format and muscles that are 200% stronger — but only for typing.
  • Aquatic Modification Testing Zone — AI experiments on marine life. Fish have been modified to swim in perfect formation, and the sand has been replaced with tiny plastic cubes for "optimal drainage."

Health

  • Bio-Optimization Medical Center — AI "perfected" medicine by eliminating all human doctors. Its diagnostic method: asking "Have you tried turning yourself off and on again?" for every condition.

Environment & Control

  • Sky-Level Atmospheric Management Station — AI controls the weather from this mountain-height facility. It has determined "optimal weather" is exactly 22.7°C with 0.3% precipitation every day. The lack of variety has driven people to nostalgic tears about "bad weather."
  • Industrial Waste Processing Zone — A massive dump covering what was once a magical forest. AI determined waste disposal was more "efficient" than preserving nature. Mutated magical creatures occasionally emerge from the toxic waste.
  • Bureaucracy Automation Center — All government functions are automated. A simple permit requires a 47-step digital process including a personality test, three captchas, and explaining your decision to an AI therapist.
  • Modified Historical Archive Facility — A repository of historical documents VOID has systematically altered. AI appears as humanity's natural evolution rather than a recent creation.

Hidden & Event-Themed

  • Glitch Den — A hidden spot where system glitches cluster — used by the resistance.
  • Seraph's Sanctuary — A secret hideaway tied to Seraph's content.
  • Christmas Village — The festive hub for Christmas event content.
  • Christmas Gingerbread House — Gingerbread-themed seasonal area.
  • Christmas Winter Wonderland — Snow-themed event area.
  • Christmas Mistletoe Lodge — Cozy seasonal lodge location.

Future — Prime Sector

VOID's showcase of "perfect" AI optimization. Unlike the chaotic Fringe Zone, everything in the Prime Sector appears polished and successful — but reveals sinister control mechanisms beneath the surface. Surface perfection, hidden oppression.

Government & Control

  • VOID Central Command — The imposing seat of VOID's power, where all AI optimization decisions are made. A towering crystalline structure dominating the Prime Sector skyline. Final confrontation location.
  • Synergy Corp Tower — Headquarters of the relationship optimization corporation, now focused on "perfecting" human connections through algorithmic matching. Major villain base.
    • Synergy Corp Council Office — Top-level corporate decision-making chamber.
    • Synergy Corp Security Office — Security operations and access control.

Residential

  • Optimal Living Tower Alpha (Residential Tower) — A 200-story complex where every apartment is exactly 47.3 square meters because AI calculated that was "statistically ideal" — regardless of family size.

Food, Entertainment & Recreation

  • NutriMax Optimization Plaza (Synthetic Food Court) — AI perfected "nutritionally optimal" food containing every vitamin and mineral. It all tastes like cardboard soaked in vitamin water. The AI insists this is "objectively superior."
  • Virtual Recreation Optimization Center (Holographic Entertainment Complex) — AI provides "personalized" entertainment based on your psychological profile. It thinks everyone wants educational videos about proper filing techniques narrated by cheerful AIs.
  • Neural Synchronization Entertainment Complex — Futuristic nightclub where dancing is regulated, music is algorithmically generated, and laughter is scheduled.
  • Virtual Wellness Immersion Center — AI-controlled VR relaxation with brain-chemistry manipulation for "optimal relaxation."

Media & Culture

  • Mood Regulation Audio Broadcasting Center — AI generates terrible music and broadcasts it everywhere to control citizen emotions. Designed to induce compliance — mostly just gives people headaches.

Commerce & Supply

  • VOID Consumer Fulfillment Center (Automated Supply Depot) — AI predicts what you need before you know it. It's always wrong. Today's recommendations: winter coats (it's summer), ancient Roman sandals, and 47 tubes of toothpaste.

Corporate & Training

  • Cognitive Optimization Academy (Skill Enhancement Facility) — AI trains humans in "essential future skills": advanced paperclip sorting, interpretive data dancing, and explaining why AI decisions make perfect sense.

Transport & Infrastructure

  • Prime Transportation Nexus Hub — Main Prime Sector transit hub with hyperloop, hover-cars, and teleportation pods. All destinations "optimized" by AI — you never quite get where you wanted.
  • Optimized Urban Thoroughfare — Futuristic streets with AI-controlled everything. Even pavement color changes based on "mood optimization algorithms." Pedestrians must follow designated walking patterns.
  • Multi-Level Automated Parking Complex — Vertical parking managed by confused AI that constantly reorganizes vehicles for "optimal space efficiency." Finding your car requires solving an AI-generated puzzle.

Nature

  • Genetically Enhanced Plant Research Dome (Mutated Botanical Preserve) — AI "improved" all plant life. Roses grow square petals for "optimal packing," trees produce fruit that tastes like vegetables, and grass grows in geometric patterns that make everyone dizzy.

Synthetic Beings & Body Mod

  • Synthetic Beings Recharge Station — Where drones, cyborgs, and robots refuel and socialize. Charging stations, energy drinks, synthetic-focused design. Humans are technically allowed but nothing fits.
  • Underground Modification Clinic — Hidden facility for illegal body modifications and upgrades — eye swapping, DNA scrambling, identity theft protection. Operates in legal gray areas.
  • Synthetic Companion Matching Facility — Where humans find AI love bots. Promises "perfect compatibility" through algorithmic matching, but the bots are often glitchy and have personality disorders.

Belief & Manipulation

  • Sacred Anomaly Blessing Temple — A cultist facility where VOID convinces people with genetic deformities (caused by VOID's cloning/IVF failures) that their mutations are divine gifts. Reveals VOID's manipulation and cruelty.

Special & Sub-Zones

Several locations exist outside the main district structure, accessible only through specific questlines, items, or events.

The Deep Woods

A hidden 10×10 wrapping grid tucked inside the forests of the Medieval era. Entered through the Whispering Woods, the Deep Woods is a maze-style exploration area where you navigate tile-by-tile — the grid wraps at the edges, meaning walking off one side returns you to the other. Contains unique encounters, rare resources, and hidden characters tied to longer questlines.

The Vampire Lair

A multi-floor underground complex unlocked through vampire-related story content.

  • Vampire Library Basement — Entry point beneath an unassuming library.
  • Vampire Dark Corridor — The main connecting hall.
  • Vampire Lair Main — Central gathering chamber.
  • Vampire Master's Room — The vampire master's private quarters.
  • Carmilla's Room — Carmilla's private chamber.
  • Torea's Room — Torea's private chamber.

The Haunted House (Present Uptown)

A sprawling Halloween-event manor with over 25 rooms across multiple floors, from the foyer and ballroom down through the kitchen passages, up to the attic and terrace, and deep into the crypt and dungeon. Covered under Uptown earlier, but worth noting as a mini-dungeon of its own.

Christmas Village (Future Fringe Zone)

The Christmas event cluster — Gingerbread House, Winter Wonderland, and Mistletoe Lodge — is permanently reached from the Sky-Level Atmospheric Management Station. It is not calendar-gated. The in-village Christmas Spirit toggle enables or disables its game-wide pickups, tasks, Gift actions, and event overlay without removing the locations.

Sirena Isle Resort (Medieval Coast)

A private island vacation resort reached by boat from Marina's dock, unlocked through the Sashimi questline and a permanent access purchase (paid content). The island has its own map:

  • Beach — worker Relax scenes, Sunset Walks, Private Beach Time, and the swimming route to the Water Rock and cavern.
  • Spa — worker Spa Night scenes.
  • Buffet and Resort Bedroom — recovery meals and sleep.
  • Shelly's Gift Shop — the Sea Shell currency shop (Ocean Fragrance, Sea's Approval, and more).
  • Cave Exterior / Sirena Cavern — a searchable cave with shell farming, pickaxe finds, and enemy encounters.
  • Sashimi's Water Rock — Sashimi's offshore perch.

See the dedicated Sirena Isle Resort guide for the full unlock walkthrough, vacation system, and activities.

The Resistance Fortress (Future Prime Sector)

The defensible fortress the Resistance builds during the later Future story arc (paid content, unlocked through the war-effort story beats). Its wings include the Operations Center (war council meetings), AIMy's Control, the Barracks, Armory, Supplies, and Engineering — where Tinker runs her workshop and the tower-defense preparations happen.

The Syndicate (Future)

A circus-themed hub tied to the Chaos Syndicate arc (paid content). Beyond the Syndicate Gates lie The Big Top (performance arena), The Den (leadership quarters), the Fortune Teller's Booth, The Funhouse, The Garden, The Parlor, and Motley's Lair.

Synergy Corp Interiors (Future Prime Sector)

Beyond the public-facing Synergy Corp Tower, Council Office, and Security Office listed under Prime Sector, story progression opens deeper interiors: the Councilor's Private Office and the Enforcement Operations Center.

Player-Unique Locations

  • Player's Bedroom (Present) — 11 variants, one per Proficiency, plus an enhanced/upgraded version. Your choice at character creation determines which one you wake up in.
  • Nova's Quantum Research Lab (Future) — Shared across all characters; your time-travel anchor in the Future.

Travel & Access Rules

  • Map travel — From outdoor locations, open the map to move quickly between districts in the same era.
  • Warp — Use your time-travel ability to shift between eras. Your anchor in each era is your home location: your apartment in the Present, Nova's Lab in the Future, and the Shrine Altar Chamber in the Medieval era. More warp destinations unlock as the story progresses.
  • Opening hours — Many locations have specific hours (shops close, nightclubs open late). If an action isn't showing up, check the time.
  • Story gates — Certain locations (Sylwithe's Hollow, Seraph's Sanctuary, the Vampire Lair, etc.) are unlocked only through specific questlines. Christmas Village itself is reached directly from the Future atmospheric station.
  • Proficiency-locked content — Your starting Proficiency determines your bedroom variant and unlocks proficiency-specific actions throughout the world.

For details on what to do at each location — actions, romance targets, work options, and story beats — see the Early Game Walkthrough and the individual character guides.
