Artemis — Complete Walkthrough

Overview

Artemis is the Future Era version of Robin — literally the same person, nine-hundred-plus years apart. She was placed in magical stasis by Sashina before the extinction of the immortal races, then woke in the Future to find her entire civilization reduced to ash and metal. She took the name Artemis (the huntress goddess who worked alone) because Robin — the woman who loved forests, animals, and people — died with her race.

She now fights alongside Ghost's resistance against VOID, carrying the weight of being the last living elf.

Note on current development: Artemis is currently Low priority / Story-Locked. As of this build she has only 3 character images and a single Talk action. Her full romance content will be developed later — this walkthrough covers what's implemented plus what her placeholder data tells us about planned progression.

Favorite Stats (each adds +1 bonus before Anthropology doubling)

The stats are the same as Robin's but with dramatically higher thresholds — Artemis demands the player prove themselves at a much higher level before she considers them worthy of attention:

  • Ability ≥ 80 (Robin: 50)
  • Perception ≥ 80 (Robin: 45)
  • Stamina ≥ 80 (Robin: 55)

The grief, trauma, and trust issues are encoded mechanically — what impressed Robin barely registers with Artemis.

Appearance

  • Hair: Long dark olive hair, now often tied back for combat
  • Eyes: Sharp blue, harder and colder than Robin's
  • Build: Tall, athletic — frame honed by centuries of archery, adapted to modern combat
  • Ears: Pointed elf ears — the last in existence
  • Outfit: Futuristic tactical gear with hints of elven craftsmanship
  • Presence: Commands respect through demonstrated skill and cold determination

She is visually distinct from Robin but clearly recognizable — the hair and eyes are the same, but nine centuries of loss have hardened every line.

Story Context

Artemis unlocks after Story Beat 28 completes. Before that she doesn't exist in the world. The reveal that the last surviving elf is the player's medieval archer love interest is a key emotional beat of the Future Era storyline.

She operates under Ghost's resistance — and that's the only reason she tolerates the player's presence at first. Ghost vouching for them is the one thing keeping her from dismissing them entirely.

Where to Find Her

Holographic Entertainment Complex (Future Prime Sector)

  • Hours: 24/7 once unlocked
  • No secondary location
  • Her schedule has an artemis_availability_check function gating visibility behind story beat 28, though the character file notes this check may not be fully wired in yet

Actions

Currently only one action exists — this is what the walkthrough can be specific about. Everything else below in the "Planned" section is inferred from her placeholder dialogue groups, which already contain complete stage progression.

Implemented Actions

Action Time Cost Requirements Daily Limit Points
Talk to Artemis 15 min None None 3 Standard progression

She starts at the Stranger relationship stage like every NPC — mechanically you rebuild from zero, which fits the fiction: Robin knew you intimately, but Artemis has walled that woman off. Her early dialogue makes the thesis statement:

"Robin is dead. I am Artemis."

Dialogue & Tone Progression

Artemis has fully written dialogue across all 10 relationship stages despite only having one action. The dialogue arc is a thaw from cold rejection back to love — she's the same person who fell for the player as Robin, but she has to give herself permission to feel again.

Known Stage — Wall Up

  • "Robin is dead. I am Artemis."
  • "You look at me like you expect someone else. Stop."
  • "Do not expect the woman you knew. She burned with the rest."

Acquaintance — Ghost's Vouch

  • "I train. I fight. I do not reminisce."
  • "Ghost trusts you. That is the only reason we speak."
  • "I dream of forests that no longer exist. Then I wake up."

Friend — Deflection With A Warning

  • "Artemis was a goddess who turned men to animals for getting too close. Remember that."
  • "You knew Robin. You do not know me."
  • "I chose this name because she hunted alone. I intend to do the same."

Close Friend — First Cracks

  • "You keep coming back. I keep letting you. Draw your own conclusions."
  • "Fine. You are... tolerable. Do not let it go to your head."
  • "The walls are there for a reason. Stop testing them."

Crush — Forced Vulnerability

  • "I feel something when you are near. I hate it."
  • "Robin loved you. Artemis is still deciding."
  • "You make the grief quieter. I do not know what to do with that."

Romantic — Acceptance

  • "I am not who I was. But I am yours, if you still want me."
  • "Love survived the fire. I did not expect that."
  • "Robin gave you her heart in a forest lodge. Artemis gives you what remains of it."
  • "I will not say it often. But I love you. There."

Intimate — Rebuilt

  • "You have seen me broken and stayed. That means something."
  • "I am the last of my kind. With you, that feels less like a sentence."
  • "Every moment with you is borrowed time. I intend to use it."

In Love — The Two Become One

  • "From Robin to Artemis, through fire and sleep, I have loved you."
  • "You are the one thing I did not lose."
  • "I would burn the world again to keep you. Do not test me on this."

Daily Limit Responses (Cold and short)

  • "No."
  • "Go away."
  • "Training. Now."
  • "Later."

Name Discussion (special dialogue group)

  • "Robin died with her people. I needed a new name."
  • "Artemis hunted alone. It fit."
  • "The name is a wall. I am aware."
  • "Maybe one day I will feel like Robin again. Not today."

Progression Flags

Flag Purpose
artemis_acknowledged_flag Reaching Acknowledged stage
artemis_close_friend_flag Reaching Close Friend stage
artemis_crush_flag Reaching Crush stage
current_story_beat > 27 Required for her to exist in the world

Note: Her character data defines custom_flags for acknowledged/close_friend/crush progression but not friend — this follows the standard pattern and may be a minor gap to fill later.

Relationship to Robin (Key Narrative Context)

Artemis is Robin, just profoundly changed. Compare:

Aspect Robin (Medieval) Artemis (Future)
Personality Reserved but warm; professional archer with quiet confidence Grief-hardened survivor rebuilding trust
Special Skill Anthropology Anthropology (unchanged — same person)
Favorite Stats Ability 50, Perception 45, Stamina 55 Ability 80, Perception 80, Stamina 80 (much harder)
Weapon Bow Crossbow ("The killing is the same")
Relationship Start Stranger Stranger — she remembers you, but makes you start over
Home Hunting Lodge Holographic Entertainment Complex
Gift Teddy Bear (+8 points) None implemented yet
Animations Forest Walk video at 1000 points None implemented yet
Dating Stargazing Date at her lodge None implemented yet
H2H Scenes Join the Hunt, Intimate Evening None implemented yet

The thematic arc: Robin was playful, observant, and slow-to-trust. Artemis is everything Robin became after losing everyone she knew — including, from her perspective, the player, who died a thousand years before she woke up.

The romance arc, if/when fully built, will be about the player convincing Artemis that Robin's love survived the centuries. Her own dialogue hints strongly at this: "Love survived the fire. I did not expect that."

Writing Style Notes

Artemis's dialogue has a very specific voice that differs from everyone else in the game:

  • Short, declarative sentences. She doesn't waste words.
  • No contractions. "I do not" instead of "I don't" — feels archaic, elvish, formal. It's the verbal equivalent of armor.
  • Rejects the old identity repeatedly. "Robin is dead. I am Artemis." is nearly a mantra.
  • Dry gallows humor emerges at Friend+ stages — "Artemis was a goddess who turned men to animals for getting too close."
  • Vulnerability always arrives sideways. Never direct confession, always through what she reveals by accident: "I feel something when you are near. I hate it."
  • The walls come down in Romantic+ stages but she never becomes effusive — even her "I love you" is grudging: "I will not say it often. But I love you. There."

When writing Artemis dialogue, the rule is: what would the most guarded version of Robin say after losing everything?

Content Status & Planned Development

Currently Implemented

  • Single location (24/7)
  • Talk action only
  • Full dialogue progression across all 10 stages
  • Full image range mapping (though all point to images 1-3)
  • Custom stage flags
  • Story Beat 28 gate

Not Yet Implemented

  • Additional character art beyond images 01-03
  • Any gifts (no favorite/least favorite yet)
  • Any H2H conversations
  • Any dates
  • Intimate encounters
  • Video/animated scenes
  • Skill teaching
  • Any unique one-time reward actions

Development Priority

Low / Story Locked — she is framed as a later-development character. The dialogue framework is in place so that when art and content are added, the romance arc can be built on top of the existing skeleton.

Tips for Current Play

  • Story Beat 28 must be completed before she's accessible. If she's not appearing at the Entertainment Complex, the player hasn't progressed the main story far enough.
  • Talk action is the only content right now — 3 times daily for progression, standard points.
  • Her stat thresholds are high (80/80/80) — don't expect favorite-stat bonuses without serious investment. Most players won't hit these until late game.
  • Anthropology skill doubles points — same as with Robin. If the player has Anthropology learned for Robin, it still works for Artemis.
  • Her character is deliberately cold right now, and that matches both her lore AND the limited content state. The writing works even as a stub.
