Overview

Prince Barnard is King Graham's 26-year-old heir. His current content centers on ordinary conversation, the King's Court route, a three-scene thread with Fernando and supporting appearances in Isolde's route. This guide covers the access requirements without retelling the scenes.

Travel through Royal Castle → Enter Castle → Throne Room, then use the destination's travel action for the royal bedroom, courtyard or garden. Ordinary Enter Castle has no configured stat, reputation or affection prerequisite. The Noble Quarter is a separate King's Demesne location.
Meet Barnard at the Castle Courtyard, 11 AM–3 PM for his one-time automatic introduction, A Prince In The Room. It gives 10 base affection and +3 for any of its Caring, Funny or Flirty responses.

Talk to Prince Barnard costs 15 minutes and gives 1 base affection, up to four times per day. The allowance is shared across all four locations. It has no configured gold or energy cost. Moving between locations does not reset it.
Listed relationship rewards are base values. Favorite stats add bonuses when their thresholds are met, and the special relationship skill doubles the adjusted base before the shared random roll. Equipment, buffs and alignment can further change the final reward. Raising affection does not replace quest flags or earlier heart-to-hearts.
Barnard's ordinary schedule governs conversation. Supporting plot appearances use their own location and time checks, including some hours outside that schedule.

Each automatic scene completes once. The table includes scenes that award Barnard affection even when his name is absent from the scene title. The King's Court, Fernando and Isolde threads have separate prerequisite chains.

King's Court Walkthrough

  1. Complete The Royal Appointment after Wilfred's potato delivery: visit the Throne Room, 10 AM–5 PM, with Elara available rather than on vacation. This starts the brothel/court foundation.
  2. Meet the Lord Chamberlain for The Man Behind the Audience in the Throne Room, 7–10 AM or 5–7 PM. Meet Vespa for The Princess Without An Audience in the Castle Garden, 10 AM–5 PM. Complete Barnard's courtyard introduction as described above.
  3. Reach Acknowledged with King Graham and the Lord Chamberlain, and brothel reputation 4. In the Throne Room, 5–7 PM, select Discuss the Rose & Thorn Accounts to start Royal Revenue Review. This first court event is a menu action, rather than an automatic arrival scene. It has no configured time cost.
  4. Complete the following court scenes in order, raising the listed affection and reputation gates as you go. The first Prince scene appears at court step 4, the second at step 8 and the third at step 12.

Barnard's three named court scenes require Acknowledged / reputation 7, Acknowledged / reputation 11, and Known / reputation 15 respectively. Their completion rewards are 8, 10 and 10 base affection. Later, The Suitor Refused needs Barnard Known, while The Unsigned Form needs him Acquaintance; each gives him 6 base affection.
Every required previous scene must be complete. Brothel reputation alone cannot skip court steps. For the court continuation involving Vespa beyond step 16, see Vespa.

Fernando's Three-Scene Thread

Visit the Tailor Shop, 8 AM–6 PM, after Fernando's tailor introduction and A Prince In The Room.

All three trigger automatically and complete once. Caring gives Barnard the highest additional bonus: +3, +4 and +4. Funny instead particularly favors Fernando in the latter two scenes. No clothing purchase is required by these scene gates.

Supporting Isolde's Route

The full access requirements and Barnard rewards for the automatic Isolde scenes are in the automatic-scene table above. In order, these are The Prince in Profile → Terms of Endurance → A Walk Without Escape → A Betrothal Without Theater → An Arrangement of Their Own, with intervening Isolde milestones required where listed.
The separate The Door Left Unlatched is a menu action with Isolde in the Royal Bedroom. It requires Romantic with Isolde, Close Friend with Barnard, completed A Betrothal Without Theater and Isolde's completed Not His Bride H2H. It costs 120 minutes and 35 energy, restores 10 calm, gives 150 base affection to Isolde and 80 to Barnard, and completes once. Finish it before the later An Arrangement of Their Own morning scene.
These plot appearances do not require Barnard to be standing in his ordinary conversation slot. For example, The Prince in Profile uses the courtyard 3–10 PM, and A Walk Without Escape uses the garden 7–10 AM. Use the plot's listed hour when progressing that thread. The bonuses above emphasize Barnard. Other participants may prefer another answer: in The Suitor Refused, Funny gives Barnard +3, while Caring/Flirty give Vespa +5 and Barnard +2. In The Unsigned Form, Flirty gives Barnard +3, while Caring gives the Lord Chamberlain +5 and Barnard +2.

Optional Private-Client Bookings

Prince Barnard enters the Receive a Client roster at brothel reputation level15. Start this action at the Rose & Thorn entrance with Netorare enabled, while operating a brothel. The hotel branch does not provide this system.
The roster selection is random among eligible clients, so starting a booking does not guarantee Prince Barnard. The system has a shared once-per-game-day booking allowance, separate from his ordinary Talk counters. A completed accepted visit takes 30 minutes and pays the offered fee directly, with possible tip and quality bonus. Declining the booking or an unwilling worker's response takes 10 minutes and still uses the booking allowance, without the accepted-visit payment.
Use an eligible worker who is active, healthy, on shift and available, rather than resting, away at the resort or assigned as the Ballroom apprentice. Active monster workers need 30 Tamed. Vespa #22 is excluded from this client's booking choices. His authored preference is an appreciative audience, with Ryia listed as his favorite; special pairing scenes exist for Ryia, Sophie, Vixen.
The actual shared service logic uses Loyalty/Tamed for willingness and the average of Dexterity and Ability for quality. For monsters, Agility supplies the Dexterity slot. Appearance and Charisma affect tip calculation (Allure and Aura for monsters). The client's legacy favorite, stat and weight fields do not replace these implemented calculations or the uniform client selection.
Even a worker strong enough to exceed the difficulty retains a 10% upset chance. Client visits award business and selected-worker rewards separately; they do not grant ordinary Prince Barnard affection or NPC intimacy experience. A successful worker praise bonus can give the selected worker's NPC 5 direct affection, rather than Prince Barnard.

If Progress Stalls

  • Start his introduction at the Courtyard, 11 AM–3 PM.
  • Use even-numbered in-game days for ordinary Castle Garden conversations after 8 PM.
  • The first court event requires selecting Discuss the Rose & Thorn Accounts, after both foundation flags, both Acknowledged stages and reputation 4.
  • Check the immediately preceding court scene, current brothel reputation and every listed NPC stage.
  • Keep Elara home for the court scenes that require her not to be vacationing.
  • Fernando's route needs both characters' affection and its preceding scenes; purchasing outfits does not replace those gates.
  • Isolde's bedroom event needs her Not His Bride H2H in addition to its plot-stage conditions.
  • There is no separate personal romance action to unlock by grinding Barnard to In Love. His authored progress is in these supporting scene threads.
