Overview

Monk is a 68-year-old Medieval monastery elder whose daily routine moves through the Scriptoria, Illuminated Manuscript Room, training hall and Scriptorium Lobby. His current content includes ordinary Talk, a one-time Perception reward, three shared encounters with Grace or Sabbath, and an optional private-client appearance.
This guide covers the actual unlocks and choices without revealing the shared scenes' story outcomes.

Quick Stats

Attribute Value
Age / gender / era / alignment 68 / Male / Medieval / Good
Home Scriptorium Lobby
Portrait hours 6 AM–10 PM, moving through four monastery rooms
Favorite stats / special relationship skill None configured
Ordinary Talk 20 minutes; 1 actual base affection; 50 shared daily
Spiritual Discipline Known, 25 affection; Communication 40
Discipline reward Perception +1 and 8 direct affection, once
Shared encounters A Gentle Reminder; Lost in Translation; Discipline Under Siege
Optional client gate Brothel reputation level 7
Monk's favorite-stat list is empty and he has no special skill that doubles his relationship multiplier. The general relationship calculation still applies to ordinary base affection. Values marked direct are added directly instead.
  1. Enter the Medieval monastery and follow his room schedule below. Talk gives one actual base point per use, including at Stranger.
  2. Reach Known, 25 ordinary affection, and Communication 40. Visit Scriptorium Lobby, 6–10 PM, to claim Spiritual Discipline for Perception +1 and 8 direct affection, once.
  3. With Grace Known and home from vacation, enter the Scriptorium Lobby, 7 AM–2 PM, for A Gentle Reminder. Its Understanding reply maximizes Monk's affection.
  4. With Grace Acquaintance and home, enter the Illuminated Manuscript Room, 2–6 PM on an even-numbered day, for Lost in Translation. Again, choose Understanding for Monk's highest reward.
  5. With Sabbath Close Friend and home, enter the Monks' Temple Training Hall, 2–6 PM, for Discipline Under Siege. Rescue Monk gives Monk's highest bonus.
  6. If using the optional Receive a Client system, reach brothel reputation level 7 to add Monk to its random visitor rotation. This is separate from his friendship and monastery encounters.
The shared encounters do not require Monk to reach a particular relationship stage and do not form a sequential chain. Their automatic time windows can differ from his ordinary portrait schedule.

Daily Room Rotation and Talk

Monk follows this schedule every game day, with no even/odd restriction on his ordinary portraits:
Time Portrait location Ordinary action
6–10 AM Monastery Scriptoria Talk
10 AM–2 PM Illuminated Manuscript Room Talk
2–6 PM Monks' Temple Training Hall Talk
6–10 PM Scriptorium Lobby Talk; Spiritual Discipline when eligible
Talk costs 20 minutes and records 1 base affection, rather than the zero placeholder in the action data. Its 50-use daily counter is shared across all four rooms; changing rooms does not restart it. His conversation topic responds to the current room, with additional randomly selected conversational topics, without a separate player-choice reward.
The configured allowance is still constrained by the available hours and the time spent talking. Beyond the limit, his handler records the shared escalating annoyance penalty, up to −5 base affection before the relationship calculation. He has no ordinary portrait gift action, so carry resources for the activities you actually plan to use rather than expecting a Flowers/Book menu.

Spiritual Discipline — One-Time Perception Reward

At Known, 25 ordinary affection, with Communication 40, start Spiritual Discipline from Monk's Scriptorium Lobby portrait, 6–10 PM. It takes 30 minutes, costs no configured money, Energy, Calm or inventory item, and gives Perception +1 and 8 direct Monk affection.
It completes once through the shared one-time reward guard. The reward is a Perception stat increase, rather than a taught player skill named Spiritual Discipline. Raising affection further does not unlock a repeat of the stat reward, and his morning Lobby story scene does not make the ordinary reward action available outside the evening portrait window.

Three Shared Automatic Encounters

Enter the scene's exact location within its own hours. Each triggers once, independently of Monk's ordinary portrait. The listed fixed rewards occur at completion, in addition to the selected choice reward.
Scene Location / time Required companion Fixed base affection
A Gentle Reminder Scriptorium Lobby, 7 AM–2 PM, every day Grace Known, not vacationing Monk 4; Grace 7
Lost in Translation Illuminated Manuscript Room, 2–6 PM on even days Grace Acquaintance, not vacationing Monk 4; Grace 9
Discipline Under Siege Monks' Temple Training Hall, 2–6 PM, every day Sabbath Close Friend, not vacationing Monk 2; Sabbath 6
A Gentle Reminder occurs before Monk's normal 6–10 PM Lobby portrait, and Lost in Translation occurs after his normal 10 AM–2 PM Manuscript Room portrait. Those automatic scenes use their registered hours; do not wait for the ordinary Talk portrait to trigger them.

Grace Scene Choices

Both Grace scenes use the same bonus pattern:
Response Monk choice bonus Grace choice bonus A Gentle Reminder total Lost in Translation total
Understanding 2 1 Monk 6; Grace 8 Monk 6; Grace 10
Funny 0 2 Monk 4; Grace 9 Monk 4; Grace 11
Flirty 0 3 Monk 4; Grace 10 Monk 4; Grace 12
Understanding maximizes Monk's affection; Flirty maximizes Grace's. A reply without a Monk choice bonus still receives the scene's fixed four points for him.

Training Hall Choices

Reply Choice bonus Total including completion
Rescue Monk Monk 3; Sabbath 2 Monk 5; Sabbath 8
Anti-meditation Monk 1; Sabbath 4 Monk 3; Sabbath 10
Flirty Monk 0; Sabbath 5 Monk 2; Sabbath 11
None of these shared scenes configures player Erotic XP or Monk NPC intimacy XP. They provide independent relationship rewards, rather than unlocking a personal Monk romance route.

Optional Private-Client Bookings

Monk enters the Receive a Client roster at brothel reputation level7. Start this action at the Rose & Thorn entrance with Netorare enabled, while operating a brothel. The hotel branch does not provide this system.
The roster selection is random among eligible clients, so starting a booking does not guarantee Monk. The system has a shared once-per-game-day booking allowance, separate from his ordinary Talk counters. A completed accepted visit takes 30 minutes and pays the offered fee directly, with possible tip and quality bonus. Declining the booking or an unwilling worker's response takes 10 minutes and still uses the booking allowance, without the accepted-visit payment.
Use an eligible worker who is active, healthy, on shift and available, rather than resting, away at the resort or assigned as the Ballroom apprentice. Active monster workers need 30 Tamed. Monk has no configured family-exclusion entry. His authored preference is gentleness and discretion, with Grace listed as his favorite; special pairing scenes exist for Bellavia, Grace, Willow.
The actual shared service logic uses Loyalty/Tamed for willingness and the average of Dexterity and Ability for quality. For monsters, Agility supplies the Dexterity slot. Appearance and Charisma affect tip calculation (Allure and Aura for monsters). The client's legacy favorite, stat and weight fields do not replace these implemented calculations or the uniform client selection.
Even a worker strong enough to exceed the difficulty retains a 10% upset chance. Client visits award business and selected-worker rewards separately; they do not grant ordinary Monk affection or NPC intimacy experience. A successful worker praise bonus can give the selected worker's NPC 5 direct affection, rather than Monk.

Troubleshooting

  • Monk is absent: use the room matching the current hour. Scriptoria and Illuminated Manuscript Room are different locations, and his Lobby portrait is in the evening.
  • Spiritual Discipline is missing: reach Known, have Communication 40, visit Lobby 6–10 PM, and check whether its one-time reward is already claimed.
  • Morning Lobby encounter is absent: check Grace Known, home from vacation, and 7 AM–2 PM; Monk's ordinary portrait is not required.
  • Manuscript encounter is absent: check Grace Acquaintance, an even-numbered day and 2–6 PM.
  • Training Hall encounter is absent: check Sabbath Close Friend and home, then enter the hall 2–6 PM.
  • Monk never visits as a client: reach brothel reputation level 7, satisfy the optional booking requirements, and allow for random visitor selection.
Monk has no configured ordinary gifts, personal dates, Heart-to-Hearts, apartment visit, pregnancy route, Kupie album, KTV/Night Club invitation, Christmas scene, numbered worker training, maid cleaning or resort vacation. The training hall is his scheduled monastery location, rather than his own numbered worker-training system.
