Fishing — Complete System Guide
Fishing combines boat navigation, a timing reel, equipment upgrades and a long-term catch ledger. It supplies gold, food and ingredients while progressing Marina's relationship. This guide covers the current mechanics and the optional Marina/Sashimi routes, with scene outcomes left for the game.

Quick Start and Opening Hours

  1. Travel to Fishing Village Coast in the Medieval Outskirts and enter the Fishing Hut.
  2. Buy a Wood Rod for 100 gold + 10 common materials; allow 10 minutes.
  3. Select Rent Fishing Boat inside the hut: 60 gold, 300 minutes of in-game time. Each rental supplies 10 bait, added to your stock up to its 99 limit. A rod is required; you can start with an empty bait stock because the rental supplies it.
  4. Click toward nearby rings to steer the boat. Reaching a ring starts the reel. Successfully reeled fish count toward that session's payout.
  5. Return for automatic processing, then reinvest in the lesson, rods and other upgrades below.
The hut's public fishing services are available around the clock. Marina normally works there 04:00–17:00; Tobbin covers the hut when she is off duty or away. When Marina is on hut duty, Tobbin is at the coast. Rod purchases, bait, rentals and the ledger remain available through the public service setup.
Marina's personal conversations and upgrades require Marina herself to be present. Tobbin's coverage does not make her relationship actions available all night. At Known+, she also visits the coast 18:00–20:00 on even days. Vacation absence can affect that schedule.
All costs below are base action costs. Rental time is distinct from the minigame's real-time countdown.

Rods, Bait and Lessons

Purchase Gold Materials: common / rare / epic Time Reel effect
Wood Rod 100 10 / 0 / 0 10 min Base settings
Iron Rod upgrade 500 0 / 10 / 0 20 min +5° hit zone; 1 fewer required hit; 1 extra allowed miss
Gold Rod upgrade 1,000 0 / 0 / 5 20 min +10° hit zone; 2 fewer required hits; 2 extra allowed misses
10 Fishing Bait 20 None 10 min Ten additional attempts, subject to the stock limit
Rod upgrades replace the previous rod. Required hits cannot fall below one. Iron and Gold also improve the fish rarity tables relative to Wood, unless Master Baiter supplies its own stronger table.
Marina's Fishing Lesson: Acknowledged+, 500 gold and 120 minutes, one time. Permanently adds another 5° to the reel hit zone, stacking with the rod.
Old Fisherman's Lesson: find his random encounter on normal Dungeon Floor 13, pay 5 Dragon Coins. Permanently multiplies spinner speed by 0.85, making it 15% slower.
Master Baiter: learned from that encounter for another 5 Dragon Coins. Speeds up ring spawning and supplies the best fish-rarity table. Meeting the fisherman is random; simply reaching Floor 13 does not guarantee him.
Caterpillar Bait: Marina Acknowledged+ and 1,000,000 combined living caterpillars/adults. The action costs 0 gold and 0 minutes, does not consume the ecosystem population, and unlocks permanent unlimited fishing bait. It also improves ring frequency and rarity. See Caterpillar Rearing.
Before unlimited bait, reaching a ring consumes one bait even if you fail the reel. The next attempt with no bait ends the outing. Extra stock can therefore matter even though rentals include ten.

Boat Navigation

Clicking water sets the boat's destination; clicking a ring steers toward that position. The boat must come within 50 pixels of the ring to start a catch. Six rocks/logs obstruct movement, so choose accessible rings or steer around obstacles.
The base outing has 45 seconds of active boat time. The first boat upgrade raises it to 60 seconds; later upgrades keep that duration and improve movement. The countdown pauses during the reel, so an outing can take considerably longer than 45–60 seconds to play.
Base rings last three active seconds and spawn every 20 frames at 20 updates per second. Ring rarity begins at 60% common / 30% rare / 10% epic.
Permanent upgrade Ring interval change Ring rarity change Ring lifetime
Master Baiter −4 frames No change to ring colors; improves fish rarity instead Unchanged
Caterpillar Bait −4 frames Common −12 points, rare +4, epic +8 Unchanged
Sashimi's Kiss −3 frames Common −9 points, rare +4, epic +5 +0.5 sec
With all three, rings spawn every 9 frames (0.45 seconds), last 3.5 seconds, and use 39% common / 38% rare / 23% epic. These are ring chances. The fish inside a ring receives a separate rarity roll.
Prioritize reachable epic rings when looking for valuable or legendary fish. Chasing a distant ring behind an obstacle can waste more boat time than taking a nearby one.

The Reel Minigame

The target is a clock position shown as a Roman numeral. Click while the rotating marker crosses its highlighted arc. You must score the required hits before reaching the miss limit. A failed reel awards no fish, then returns you to the boat if the outing can continue.
Base values below apply to Wood Rod without either lesson. Width is the full angular arc; speed is the configured marker increment.
Difficulty Speed Width (degrees) Required hits Miss limit
1 16.0 105.0 3 5
2 17.0 100.0 3 5
3 18.0 85.0 4 5
4 19.0 75.0 4 4
5 20.0 65.0 5 4
6 22.0 55.0 5 3
7 24.0 45.0 6 3
8 26.0 35.0 6 2
9 28.0 25.0 7 2
10 30.0 20.0 7 1
Gold Rod plus Marina's lesson gives +15° width, −2 required hits and +2 allowed misses. At difficulty 10, that changes 20° / 7 hits / 1 miss to 35° / 5 hits / 3 misses. The Fisherman's lesson also slows its speed from 30 to 25.5.
The fish catalog's ledger level does not always equal the reel's difficulty. Crystal Bass and Shadowfin use difficulty 9; Godly Goldfish and Chrono Carp use 10, even where their catalog levels are lower. The catalog below lists the actual reel difficulty.

Fish Rarity and Luck Potion

First the ring color and your rod/skill choose a rarity. Then the game chooses uniformly among the eligible fish of that rarity. A common ring can contain a rare or epic fish; an epic ring is not a guarantee of an epic catch.

Wood Rod, without Master Baiter

Ring Common fish Rare fish Epic fish Legendary fish
Common 85% 13% 2% 0%
Rare 35% 55% 9% 1%
Epic 10% 25% 60% 5%

Iron or Gold Rod, without Master Baiter

Ring Common fish Rare fish Epic fish Legendary fish
Common 70% 25% 5% 0%
Rare 20% 60% 18% 2%
Epic 5% 15% 70% 10%

Master Baiter, with any rod

Ring Common fish Rare fish Epic fish Legendary fish
Common 60% 30% 8% 2%
Rare 10% 65% 21% 4%
Epic 0% 15% 70% 15%
An active Luck Potion rolls the fish rarity twice and keeps the better tier. It does not select the species twice or favor a particular legendary species. For example, the Master Baiter epic-ring legendary chance rises from 15% to 27.75%: 1 − (1 − 0.15)². Reeling success is still required.
Fish descriptions include preferred hours, but the current catch selection does not filter by those hours. You do not need a dawn-only rental for the Void Leviathan. Its actual restriction is the quest unlock described below.

Complete Fish Catalog

There are 30 fish: 11 common, 9 rare, 7 epic and 3 legendary. Sizes are centimeters. Base value is the smallest specimen's gross value; a maximum-size specimen is worth twice that amount.

Common Fish

1 Minnow 1 1 5–12 2
2 Bluegill 2 2 15–25 3
3 Perch 2 2 18–30 5

21 Crystal Bass 9 8 40–70 85
22 Rainbow Koi 8 8 35–60 95
23 Shadowfin 9 8 45–80 130
29 Prismatic Eel 7 7 50–90 108
30 Ghost Shark 8 8 70–120 120

Legendary Fish

ID Fish Reel difficulty Ledger level Size (cm) Base gold
24 Godly Goldfish 10 9 120–180 350
25 Chrono Carp 10 9 80–120 260
26 Void Leviathan 10 10 200–400 500
For a size between the catalog minimum and maximum, gross value is the rounded-down result of:
base value × (1 + (size − minimum size) / (maximum size − minimum size))
These are gross catch values before the processing share. The Void Leviathan joins the legendary selection only after its quest is activated.

Processing, Payouts and the Ledger

After a session with at least one successful catch, the fish are processed automatically. Tobbin uses the same rewards as Marina and still awards Marina relationship progress, including the Leviathan bonus. A no-catch outing gives no processing rewards.
Player gold = gross session value − floor(40% of gross session value). That is roughly 60%, rounded upward where necessary. The gross total determines the reward tier; fish count and displayed weight do not determine it.
Tier Gross catch value Food Ingredients: common / rare / epic Marina points
1 Under 300 2 1 / 0 / 0 3
2 300–499 3 2 / 0 / 0 5
3 500–699 5 3 / 1 / 0 7
4 700–999 7 4 / 2 / 0 10
5 1,000–1,499 10 5 / 3 / 1 25
6 1,500–1,999 15 7 / 4 / 2 40
7 2,000+ 20 10 / 5 / 3 100
A session containing the Void Leviathan adds another 50 Marina points to that tier reward. These processing points are flat awards.
Example: a gross catch of 1,200 pays 720 gold, 10 food, 5 common + 3 rare + 1 epic ingredient and 25 Marina points. After the 60-gold rental, the outing's net gold gain is 660 before optional bait purchases.
View Fishing Ledger is free and instant at the hut. It records lifetime counts per species, largest caught size, total fish and gross catch value. Its “Total Gold Earned” is not your net wallet profit: it includes the processor's share and does not subtract rentals or equipment.

Marina's Three Boat Upgrades

Buy these in order while Marina is present at the hut. Material costs are common / rare / epic; each takes 240 minutes.
Upgrade Relationship and other gates Gold Materials Active boat time Movement/rotation versus base
Upgrade Boats Close Friend+, Technology 50 5,000 60 / 20 / 5 60 sec 1.25×
Enhance Boat Speed Crush+, first upgrade complete, full version 15,000 80 / 30 / 10 60 sec 1.50×
Ultimate Speed Mastery Romantic+, second upgrade complete, full version 50,000 160 / 60 / 20 60 sec 2.00×
The effects replace the previous boat tier; they do not multiply together. Boats affect navigation and duration, not the reel hit zone or species rarity roll.
The scenes also progress Marina's relationship. Their plot awards are 17 / 28 / 38 base points, plus dialogue-choice rewards and additional completion awards of 75 / 80 / 100 base points processed through her relationship bonuses. These are separate from the fish-processing points and are not fixed all-inclusive totals.

Marina's Relationship Actions

Marina has no favorite-stat bonuses. Learning Master Baiter supplies her character special-skill multiplier. Ordinary interactions can receive the relationship system's other applicable bonuses; their final points may therefore differ from the listed base points.

Sashimi and the Optional Pool Route

This route supplies a permanent fishing blessing and opens further character content. It is not required to activate the Leviathan through Marina's H2H.
  1. Explore normal Dungeon Floor 13 for Sashimi's three sequential water encounters. They are random encounters, so revisit as needed. The third includes a fight. Completing it grants Sashimi's Kiss, improving ring spawning, rarity and lifetime permanently, even before she is at the pool.
  2. Build the brothel Courtyard and Pool through Gastoff's building route. Courtyard requires Reputation 5, 30,000 gold and 10 epic materials, ingredients and fabrics each. Pool requires Reputation 6 and the Courtyard, 200,000 gold and 25 of each epic resource, taking 180 minutes.
  3. After all three encounters and with the Pool built, finish a fishing outing containing at least 25 successfully caught fish. This triggers Sashimi's discovery if she has not already moved to the Pool. Unlimited bait is especially useful: rental bait alone supplies only ten attempts.
  4. Visit the Pool during 09:00–19:00 for her arrival and relationship plots. Build her relationship through her available conversations and gifts. Transmutation is her character special skill; it doubles applicable relationship point totals.
  5. At Friend+, her automatic Beast Between Worlds plot offers the alternate Leviathan quest activation. Afterward, An Island in Mind unlocks Marina's Boat to Sirena Isle action.
For her full character walkthrough, see Sashimi. For the destination opened by the skiff, see Sirena Isle Resort. The route's dialogue and story reveals are left for the game.

Void Leviathan: Unlock and Catch Route

  1. Activate the quest by either completing Marina's The Impossible Catch H2H at Friend+, or Sashimi's Beast Between Worlds pool plot at Friend+.
  2. Fish normally. The Void Leviathan is now one of three eligible legendary species, uniformly selected after a legendary rarity roll. An epic ring plus Master Baiter gives a 15% legendary chance, and thus 5% Void chance per attempt while the quest is active, before reeling. With Luck Potion's rarity reroll, those become 27.75% legendary / 9.25% Void. These are probabilities, not guaranteed session rewards.
  3. Win its difficulty-10 reel. Gold Rod, both lessons and unlimited bait make repeated attempts easier. Boat tiers and Sashimi's Kiss help you reach more rings, but the quest does not require every upgrade.
  4. For Marina's The Impossible Wager, also complete her own H2H and reach Close Friend+, then use that action at her hut. Sashimi's quest activation alone does not fulfill the H2H requirement.
The catch flag is recorded through processing with either Marina or Tobbin. The follow-up scene is one time; its narrative payoff is left for the game.

Progression and Troubleshooting

* Start cheaply: Wood Rod and the supplied rental bait are enough to begin. Marina's lesson and Iron/Gold Rod directly ease catches; the Fisherman's upgrades require dungeon access and Dragon Coins.
* Build permanent coverage: Caterpillar Bait removes the bait bottleneck. The boat's first upgrade adds a quarter-speed improvement and fifteen more active seconds; higher tiers improve speed further.
* The rental is missing: enter the hut, check that you own a rod and have 60 gold. Bait stock is not an entry gate.
* Marina's action is missing at night: Tobbin supplies public services; return during Marina's hut duty for her personal actions and upgrades.
* A ring disappears before the reel starts: reach it with the boat before its lifetime expires. Clicking it alone does not instantly hook a fish.
* Epic-colored rings give cheaper fish: ring color and fish rarity are separate rolls. Use the table matching your current rod or Master Baiter skill.
* Fishing ended early: check bait and the active boat timer. Failed reels consume bait. Unlimited bait removes that limit, not the timer.
* The ledger shows more gold than the wallet gained: it tracks gross catch value, before the 40% processing share and your rental costs.
* The Leviathan will not appear: first complete one quest activation route. There is no actual time-of-day catch filter; repeated eligible attempts are still random.
* Sashimi has not appeared at the Pool: finish all three normal Floor 13 encounters, build the Pool, then catch 25+ fish in one outing. A cumulative ledger total of 25 is insufficient.
* A later boat tier is missing: check its predecessor and the current Crush / Romantic requirements. Both later tiers require the full version.
