Dragon Coin Farming — Dungeon Floor 13

Reported by: Larsun (Discord)

A reliable method for farming Dragon Coins and converting them into Crystals via Gonzo. With enough patience, you can accumulate as many Crystals as you want and spend the spares on other crystal shop upgrades.

Prerequisites

  • Able to comfortably survive and navigate Dungeon Floor 13
  • Comfortable with repetitive grinding
  • Negotiation skill (optional but reduces runs needed from 25 to 23)

Step 1 — Farm Dragon Coins on Floor 13

Floor 13 always contains a Dragon Coin. Jump in, grab the coin, and immediately exit. Repeat.

  • Without Negotiation skill: 25 runs needed
  • With Negotiation skill: 23 runs needed

Time cost per coin: Each floor tile costs 3 in-game minutes (2 min with a Time Distortion potion active). Reaching and grabbing the coin takes roughly ~20 moves on average, meaning approximately 1 in-game hour per coin — sometimes a bit more, sometimes less, depending on the floor layout.

Important: As long as you don't move, you don't lose in-game time. Plan your route before stepping. You can always leave/re-enter a floor without using any resources.

Step 2 — Buy a Crystal from Gonzo

Once you have 23–25 Dragon Coins, go to Dungeon floors 2–5 and check if Gonzo is present as a random encounter.

  • If Gonzo is there: Buy a Crystal.
  • If Gonzo is not there: Exit the dungeon and re-enter. Repeat until he appears. Moving around the floor costs time, so exit and re-enter rather than wandering — you don't lose time standing still, nor do you lose time for leaving/reentering.

The Maths

Metric Value
Coins per Crystal 23–25 (23 with Negotiation)
Time per coin ~1 in-game hour (~20 moves at 3 min/tile)
Time per coin (with Time potion) ~40 min in-game (~20 moves at 2 min/tile)
Coins per in-game day ~23–25
Crystal cost (Extend Doomsday) 1 Crystal = +10 days on the timer
Net days per grind cycle ~9 days (1 day spent grinding = +10 days on timer)

One full grind cycle costs roughly 1 in-game day and rewards 1 Crystal, which you can spend on Extend Doomsday (+10 days) — a net gain of 9 in-game days per cycle. Stack spare Crystals for other crystal shop purchases (skills, stat boosts, resource packages).

Notes

  • There is no cap on how many times you can run this loop — it scales as long as you're willing to grind.
  • Spending Crystals on Extend Doomsday first is the recommended use — buying time gives you more room to earn everything else.
  • Spare Crystals can go toward Crystal Enlightenment (random skill), Dark Magic or Light Magic (3 crystals each), stat boosts, or resource packages at Lillian's Lair / Seraph's Sanctuary / Sylwithe's Hollow.
