Talk has no configured energy cost. Flowers are listed as her least-favorite gift, but the actual action still awards 4 base points; there is no flower penalty on an allowed gift. Books award 6 base points and Wine awards 7. Respect the displayed daily limits: over-limit handler responses can reduce affection.
Listed relationship rewards are base values. Favorite stats add bonuses when their thresholds are met, and the special relationship skill doubles the adjusted base before the shared random roll. Equipment, buffs and alignment can further change the final reward. Raising affection does not replace quest flags or earlier heart-to-hearts.

Research Walkthrough

  1. Choose Request Exam at the office. This is a one-time action costing 30 minutes and 30 energy, with a 1-base-point scene reward.
  2. Wait until the next in-game day, then return during office hours for The Results. This unlocks the repeatable Sample Collection action.
  3. The separate Standard Psychological Screening becomes available after The Results. Its three questions award the same relationship base point for each answer, but the answer categories influence the alignment screening. Choose answers that suit your intended alignment.
  4. Raise affection to Known and return on a later day for Controlled Experiment.
  5. Continue through the remaining research scenes in the table, meeting each affection requirement and returning on a later day after the previous examination. Gifts, conversation and Sample Collection help bridge affection gaps.
  6. After Breakthrough Discovery, reach Romantic and return for Published Findings, the final scene of this research chain.
Automatic scene Location Requirements Base reward
The Results Dr. Akira's Office Request Exam completed; A later in-game day than the previous research examination; 6 AM–7 PM 3
Standard Psychological Screening Dr. Akira's Office The Results completed; 6 AM–7 PM 3
Controlled Experiment Dr. Akira's Office Akira: Known+; The Results completed; A later in-game day than the previous research examination; 6 AM–7 PM 6
Unexpected Findings Dr. Akira's Office Akira: Acquaintance+; Controlled Experiment completed; A later in-game day than the previous research examination; 6 AM–7 PM 10
Clinical Trials Dr. Akira's Office Akira: Close Friend+; Unexpected Findings completed; A later in-game day than the previous research examination; 6 AM–7 PM 17
Peer Review Dr. Akira's Office Akira: Crush+; Clinical Trials completed; A later in-game day than the previous research examination; 6 AM–7 PM 14
Breakthrough Discovery Dr. Akira's Office Peer Review completed; A later in-game day than the previous research examination; 6 AM–7 PM 15
Published Findings Dr. Akira's Office Akira: Romantic+; Breakthrough Discovery completed; A later in-game day than the previous research examination; 6 AM–7 PM 20

The examination chain records the current day whenever an examination scene finishes. Its next examination therefore waits for a new in-game day. Merely leaving and re-entering the office on the same day will not advance it. The psychological screening is a separate scene and does not impose that examination cooldown.
For higher base rewards, choose Caring/Kind during The Results, Controlled Experiment and Unexpected Findings. In Clinical Trials, Flirty then Caring gives the largest choice bonuses. Peer Review favors Flirty, Caring/Flirty, Caring across its three choices. Breakthrough Discovery favors Kind/Flirty then Caring. Published Findings favors Caring/Flirty for the first choice, with all three categories tied for the second. These are affection choices; no major scene outcomes are disclosed here.

Dates

Zoo Date requires Friend, starts between 9 AM and 2 PM, and costs 120 minutes, $100 and 50 energy. Farmers Market Date requires Close Friend and the completed Zoo Date, with the same window and costs.
Win Her a Prize is a separate one-time fair outing: Friend, noon–6 PM, 120 minutes and 1 Voucher. It is blocked while the NPC is pregnant. It does not complete Zoo Date or unlock Farmers Market by itself.
Boardwalk Sunset Date requires Close Friend, Diane's completed boardwalk project, and paid/supporter access. Start from the office between 5 PM and before 7 PM; the action's wider window extends to 8 PM, but Akira leaves earlier. It costs 60 minutes, $50 and 30 energy.
All four dates complete once. Highest affection choices, in encounter order:
Date Completion base reward Highest choice bonuses
Zoo 5 Funny +4 → Caring +5 → Caring +5
Farmers Market 5 Caring/Funny +4 → Caring +5 → Caring/Funny +5
Boardwalk Sunset 10 Sweet +5 → Sweet/Flirty +5 → Sweet/Flirty +5
Win Her a Prize 5 Flirty +5 → Caring +5 → Funny/Flirty +4

Transfer Protocol

At Close Friend, select Transfer Protocol at the office. It costs 60 minutes and 30 energy and contains four rounds. It does not require completion of Zoo Date or Farmers Market. The heart-to-heart completes once; its displayed daily limit does not turn it into a repeatable date.

Transfer Protocol

Round Highest base-point choice Base points
1 You could have just asked me to stay. 10
2 Whatever you need to tell yourself, doctor. 10
3 I won't tell anyone. This stays between us. 10
4 You never were just a brain in a lab coat. 15

Heart-to-heart choice points accumulate and use the shared relationship calculation at completion. The listed points are base values, not guaranteed final affection gains.

Sample Collection

After The Results, Sample Collection is available once per day at the office. It costs 30 minutes and 20 energy, awards 10 base relationship points, and advances the first tutorial quest's sample objective. It is a repeatable animated encounter, separate from the one-time research scenes and Transfer Protocol.

Optional Pregnancy Protocol

This branch requires pregnancy content to be unlocked and enabled. It is separate from Akira's personal romance and does not make her a pregnancy candidate.
Order Office action Requirement Cost
1 Review Fertility Safeguards The Results completed; pregnancy content unlocked and enabled 30 minutes
2 Study the Waiting Window First protocol step and Breakthrough Discovery completed 30 minutes
3 Finalize Pregnancy Protocol Study the Waiting Window completed 30 minutes
The three actions launch A Deliberate Choice, The Waiting Window, and The Pregnancy Protocol, respectively. They complete once, with scene rewards of 3, 3 and 5 base points plus choice bonuses. Caring choices give the largest bonuses: 3, 3 and 4. Finalizing the protocol establishes a prerequisite used by eligible NPC pregnancy routes; their individual readiness and relationship requirements still apply.

If Progress Stalls

  • Before Talk becomes available, start with Request Exam and the next-day results visit.
  • For the next research scene, check both affection and the last examination day.
  • Farmers Market needs the original Zoo Date, not the Voucher fair outing.
  • Boardwalk needs Diane's construction milestone and paid/supporter access, and Akira must still be in her office.
  • Missing pregnancy actions require the optional system to be unlocked and switched on as well as the appropriate research milestones.
